Santa Casa da Misericórdia da Amadora

Misericordia of Amadora (SCMA) is a NGO with 35 years of existence, oriented to Human Dignity, that provides social and healthcare  services as well as education and training to more than 6000 people daily, noting that of those 600 are older adults. The Organisation emerges from a multi-challenged territorial context, as a first and second line anchor, with the purpose of mitigating the biopsychosocial vulnerabilities of the Population and of the Community, while promoting the capacity building to accelerate processes of empowerment.

Since 2009, SCMA has been involved in national and european projects tackling Social Innovation, Integrated Care and e-Healh, being totally focused on the development and delivering of methodologies, strategies and models that fit the profile, continuously changing, of the needs but also of the expectations and preferences of the people, in a clear respect for their limits, expressed in their decisions related to the contents of care delivering.

The Organisation has been investing heavily on the dematerialization of the Information and on the decentralization of the Intervention, putting the previous silos of social care and health care working together, collaboratively, allying, at the same time the key importance of the human factor with the technology in a change management process for a real Integrated and Person Centred Care Model.
